Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the Ochi 3D product configurator app (“Ochi”, “we”, “us”) accesses when you install it on your Shopify store, why we need it, who helps us process it, and how you can have it removed. It covers the app only — your own store’s privacy policy governs how you handle your customers.

What we access, and why

  • Your store and account. Your Shopify store domain and an access token, so the app can read the products you configure and write the storefront pieces it needs. Stored securely for as long as the app is installed.
  • The configurators you build. The 3D scene setup, options, prices and settings you enter in the app. Stored in our database so your configurator works and can be edited.
  • 3D models and preview images. The .glb files you upload and the preview images the app generates are stored in your own Shopify Files, on your store — under your control, not copied elsewhere by us.
  • Shopper choices at the storefront. When a shopper configures a product, their selections — and any engraving text or image they add — are attached to the cart and order through Shopify so you can fulfil it, and are used to render the 3D preview and calculate the price. We do not build a separate profile of the shopper.
  • “Build with AI” (optional). Only if you use this feature, the text you type and basic details of your scene are sent to our AI provider to draft a configuration for you to review. It is not used on shopper traffic.

What we do not do

  • We do not create shopper accounts or ask your shoppers to log in.
  • We do not collect or store payment or card details — checkout is Shopify’s.
  • We are not granted access to your customer list, and do not read your customers’ personal data.
  • We do not sell your data, and do not share it for advertising.

Who helps us process data (subprocessors)

Ochi runs on a small set of trusted providers. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:

  • Shopify — the platform your store and the app run on.
  • Render — hosts the app’s server.
  • Neon — hosts the app’s database, where your configurator settings live.
  • Anthropic — powers the optional “Build with AI” feature, and only receives data when you choose to use it.

How long we keep it, and deletion

  • We keep your configurator data while the app is installed, so your work is there when you return.
  • If you uninstall, we remove the app’s data for your store. The 3D models and images in your Shopify Files stay with you — they are yours to keep or delete in Shopify.
  • We honour Shopify’s privacy requests: the customer-data-request, customer-redact and shop-redact webhooks are handled automatically.

Security

Data travels over encrypted HTTPS connections, and your store access token is stored securely and used only to run the app on your behalf.

Your choices

You can uninstall the app at any time from your Shopify admin, which starts the deletion above. To ask what we hold or to request removal directly, email us at support@ochi3d.com.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the “last updated” date above.
